Projects that shape memorable experiences of leisure and retreat, be it away from cities or in an enclave within them. The work should display a strong understanding of atmosphere, identity, spatial storytelling and a sense of escape and return.

Criteria and guidelines
Special criteria
- Professionals should submit completed projects that display innovation, contemporary aesthetics and urban luxury.
- Professionals should submit a detailed concept note in 300 words or less explaining the making of the property, right from the initial brief given to the construction process, themes and material used.
Entry rules & regulations:
- Participants must complete the application in the form of a powerpoint presentation, in adherence to the template provided, and send it to kbda@kohler.com
- Only powerpoint presentation format is allowed
- The last date for submitting entries is 10/07/2026
- Submissions must include sketches, plans, elevations and before and after images of the space (optional) with professionally shot pictures (interiors and exteriors as applicable)
- Renders are not allowed for submission, unless you are participating in the Unbuilt Concepts category
- If you are submitting a single project under multiple categories, please fill up a new form for each category.
- The number of pages in the PDF/Images should not exceed 50. The total file size should not be greater than 20 MB.
- The project should be described as per the guideline in the presentation
- The project should not be more than 5 years old (not older than 2021).
- The project must be absolutely complete and based in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Maldives.
- Projects that have won previous KBDAs are not eligible to re-enter.
Instituted in 2016 as a biennial event, the Kohler Bold Design Awards is a platform by Kohler India, to acknowledge and celebrate truly exceptional work done by Indian architects & designers. The Jury panel includes some of the most renowned personalities in the field of architecture and design from India and abroad.
